So for the bottle blows sound I blew across a glass bottle making the air resonate inside the bottle. But when recording I found the microphone picked up a lot of air that I was blowing out ruining the audio so I had to record the sound by blowing over the bottle and the microphone which gave sound from the bottle leaving the sound of the air out of the recording. I did multiple variations of blowing over the bottle and I found that 2 of them sounded similar but added a different feel so I decided to include both of them into the same instrument and just make it so you could select between the two different sounds.
I initially thought that it would be easy to make this instrument using the Max for Live instrument “Granulator II” which would allow me to pick a small section of the sample and really quickly and play it in layers with 8 voices witch make this sample work well with its repeating nature that allows it to go on as long of it needs. I found that the bace settings on the granulator gave me the sound I was looking for so I decided to leave these options as they are. (as seen in figure 1)
