The Train door sound was taken from from a diesel train so there was a lot of engine sound so I was tasked on this sample to remove most of the engine noise before i could render it out and drop it in the simpler so I could play it on a keyboard as midi
To remove most of the background sound I used the Sonox plugin Denoise which helped with removing the bulk of the engine noise revealing the sound of the door on top which makes it easier to apply other effects like filters. You would manipulate the sound by dragging the white dots up or down to increase or decrease a frequency range. But once I had done the removal of the the bulk of the engine sound I would need to render this audio out as the plugin with its real time de noising added about 12,288 samples of delay (Sony Oxford Sonnox n.d) at 48Khz witch would cause all instruments to act slow to keep in time with the plugin.
For the reverb on the train sound I had the size at 100 with the decay time being 1.20 seconds and a wet/dry of 63% but I also used the reverbs built in Hi pass filter to remove some of the ear sensitive sounds that were being brought out from the reverb
Yet again this sample is horrible to work with because of the engine sound decreasing the quality of the final product so i had to remove the final bits of awkward frequencies by using an auto filter with quite a narrow filter position to get the best out of the sample as possible.
This effect does have lots of options to add to the effect but I chose to leave most of them at there standard settings and only use the filters frequency.
